The two Clown Loaches have settled in. My Daughter has named them 'Tiger', and 'Holie'. I don't know if that's spelt right, and I don't know which is which, just yet! There's a couple of pics here, of them feeding with the Cory's, and 'Charcoal', the young Angel.

My wife got worried about this 'clicking' noise coming from the tank. I said 'Don't worry about it, it's just the Cory's bumping gravel against the glass". Because they do that. But I'd forgotten, having read somewhere, that Clown Loaches make that same sort of sound.

Another thing my Wife commented on, was the Loaches running up and down the glass. Again she asked, I said that I had no idea. But I later looked up Clown Loaches in a very old TFH publication (1971?). I told her that I'd found something for her, about that behaviour. This is what it said:

...and often swims up and down the glass sides of the aquarium for no apparent reason.

Does anyone have any Loach behaviour tit-bits? I actually have a pertinent question - How are they on gobbling eggs, in a Community Aquarium? (I just had a batch of Keyhole Cichlid eggs disappear overnight!)

The clicking sound is a happy one! It means they're munching on something that they really like. Mine would sometimes click when I stuck my fingers in the tank and they'd nibble on my nails. Swimming up and down the tank is also normal, as is lying down on their sides or even upside down when they're resting - red flags for any other fish, except the clown loach. They're silly. I don't know about the eggs, but I'll bet you anything they were the culprit. They'll eat anything small enough to fit in their mouths!
