a very nice collection of fish. my favourite pic is the 3rd one from the top with the krib poking its eye in from around the corner of a rock Laughing

what variety is the fish in the 9th pic down, the one that looks kinda zebra striped? it's a striking colouration.

Funky: If may be a tad forward, could I trouble you to edit in the Species Name under each photo? Not all of us a familiar with L numbers, or indeed which Plec is which.

After that request, I'm now loath to ask how much some of these fish are worth. My local Aquarium was showing off his Albino Long-fin Bristlenose last week. It was going for around Aus $120. And I believe the young offspring were up around $80. And I'm now wondering if they were Albino, they were more a gold color, rather than the Albino pink.

But I love your wood (shut up Fishy!), and was wondering about what that curved bit of concrete is?

nick the 9th photo shows L260 hypancistrus sp (queen arabesque pleco)
funky you say the L144 is a albino version but the L144 number is given to ancitrus sp & is commonly called black eyed yellow bristlenose as it is distinguised by having black eyes looking at the photo i would say it is not a L144 but an albino form of a different ancistrus
i will now try to list the fish in the photos for you kana
photo 1 albino ancistrus sp
photo 2 albino ancistrus sp
photo 3 L090 panaque sp (papa panaque)
photo 4 L106 hemiancistrus guahiborum (spotted orange seam pleco)
photo 5 from left to right L104 panaque maccus (clown pleco/ringlet pleco) albino ancistrus sp. L066 (possibly) hypancistrus sp (juvenile ? king tiger pleco/network pleco/scribbled pleco)
photo 6 L260 hypancistrus sp (queen arabesque pleco) albino ancistrus sp
photo 7 from left to right L260 hypancistrus sp (queen arabesque pleco) albino ancistrus sp. L104 panaque maccus (clown pleco/ringlet pleco) L106 hemiancistrus guahiborum (spotted orange seam pleco) L066 (possibly) hypancistrus sp (juvenile ? king tiger pleco/network pleco/scribbled pleco)
photo 8 albino ancistrus sp L104 panaque maccus (clown pleco/ringlet pleco) L106 hemiancistrus guahiborum (spotted orange seam pleco) L066 (possibly) hypancistrus sp (juvenile ? king tiger pleco/network pleco/scribbled pleco)
photo 9 L260 hypancistrus sp (queen arabesque pleco)
photo 10 L066? juvenile ? hypancistrus sp (king tiger pleco/network pleco/scribbled pleco)
photo 11 L066? juvenile ? hypancistrus sp (king tiger pleco/network pleco/scribbled pleco)
photo 12 albino ancistrus sp
photo 13 L106 hemiancistrus guahiborum (spotted orange seam pleco)

Clunkster, you are pretty good. The L144 albino bristle nose longfin is a captive bred only species, hence the L144 designation. Its an ancistrus sp.
The L260 is really L174. L260 looks similar when juvenile, but this particular plec is over the juvenile size for L260. I do have an L260 thats never in photo range. All of these plecs are in a 55 gallon aquarium. I bought them from a friend that was moving and had to sell them. I picked up 11 plecs for $140 USD. Its $300+ USD to purchase them at the lfs/lps.
Kana3, the curved concrete is actually bowl rock. It does look alot like concrete though.

Cheers Clunkster! That had me zipping up and down the page!

I had thought that Bowl Rock was a sheared off section of concrete pipe.

L027 - does this lovely fella have a name?

No name yet. I haven't done any research on what bowl rock is. It very well may be concrete.

I should rephrase that. "To me, your Bowl Rock appears to resemble a sheared off piece of concrete pipe". The curvature led me to think you'd plonked a piece of pipe in your tank.

Where I grew up, I remember pieces of pipe like that lying around all over the place. I thought it was a bit of creative tank decor.

Someone on Planet catfish pointed me in the right direction as far as L144 goes. Its actually ancistrus sp.5. I apologize for the misunderstanding.
