every time i come on to the site i notice there is usually a guest online well can i just say if you are a guest reading this post why dont you come and join our growing community and then that way you will be able to give us your views, oppinions, experiances and the best thing is its FREE so come and join us Very Happy

The thing is, you need to look for '2' Guests, because one of them will most likely be the Google-bot. Those things are in here all the time sniffing about. As I understand it, the Forumup Community pay their bills, by leasing out Advertising Space through Google.

If you look above and below our Forum, you'll see the Ad's are posted by Google. Now here's the clever bit - Have a look at what the Ad is selling, now have a look at the content of the Topic you're reading...

The Google-bot's job, is to 'sniff' out our Topics, and pick a relevant product to advertise on that page!

Scary Huh?

Oh, and any 'real' Guest's, just follow Clunksters intructions...

I was just checking out 'Aquatic Babble' with a Google search.

It's interesting what the Bot's have picked up on.

One Hit Description, included the text that spins around the pointer, on the Index page.

Another description had our descriptive text from both 'Aquarium Chat', and 'Tropical Plants'.

One even took me to Aquatic Babble in an alternate universe, where everyone spoke Italian !!

Yep sometimes it could be a google bot but you get many other bots on my site there constantly on there here is a list of which bots you can get:

MSNBot
Unknown robot (identified by 'spider')
Googlebot
EchO! (yahoo bot)
Inktomi Slurp
LinkWalker
AskJeeves
WISENutbot
Voyager 1
Unknown robot (identified by 'robot')

Also the ads you see on the top are google ad sense if you click on them the owner of forumup with get something like $0.5 when anyone clicks on them.

As long as you don't mention things like 'TerroWrist', 'Balmbs', and 'exgroceries'. Otherwise the 'Fed' Bot's will report us, and it'll be kick down the door in the middle of the night time!!

You weren't here, but we talked Cameras a lot whilst you were slacking off. And we've had Camera ads ever since.

The Banners out front are the same. Every second time we display a Banner, ours get shown once.
