And if he does that'll be fine because we are going on thursday to look at a 5x2x2 and hopefully make an offer..........

tank and fish are looking good Mel n Tony.
one small subjective comment, i like to fill my tanks to the point that u cant actualy see the top of the water. i just think it looks better plus i find it makes taking pics of the tank easier. the gap and the light it throws out tends to mess up the exposures i find makes the tank look dark.
otherwise keep the pics coming and again nice tank n fish

Thanks guys for the tip. We are going to get more plants but we are going to queensland in the next week so we are waiting till then.
On another note, our tank is always going to have a lot of light because of where its placed. It is in the middle of our living room and has two tree {cut and stained of course} that hold it into place. So you can see the tank from all sides. As i said we are likely to get this 5x2x2 and we might go in a totally different direction with that....

i saw a 2nd hand 5'x2'x2' tank on ebay the other day, in Glasgow where i stay. you'll never believe how much it sold for? .... £5
if i had more room i would have bought it
saying that i got a 2nd hand, but good condition (floating base) 24"x14"x12 with a brand new hood and new lights a day or so later for £10. i am well pleased. the hood and lights alone are worth £41. the tank even second hand is worth more than a £10er, hehe. good old ebay

Well Queensland seems to be the Aquarium State, so you may be able to pick up a few things you've been after.

Scotsmen and their Money, hey? It reminds of the Monty Python sketch about Scottish Poetry...

Well we went to Queensland last saturday, And not only did we get some fish we also got a 4x2x2 tank , what is the original size i would have liked. We got a pair of 7 bar frontosa's, another couple of cuckoo cats and a pair of hump heads-lion heads.....i'm not sure of the right name.
The day wasn't a total sucess....my 6 year old got her fingers caught in the car door when we were up there...No that made for some high pitched screaming.Poor thing.
Still waiting for the tank to get set up. Hopefully we will start it soon as he has just finished the stand yesterday.....

Yes , I'm gonna try to take pics at a few stages. My camera is still playing up but the position of this tank {against a wall} may make it a little eaisier.
He is finally setting it up now. We had to wait until we got the new under gravel filters and power head. Which we now have. We are putting the frontosa's and bumpheads in this new tank.
On another note our pair of convicts have just laid eggs....
