Hey everyone,

My name is Jack and at the moment I have a 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank but am looking to upgrade, in the tank at the moment is:

- 2 Red Tailed Sharks
- 1 Cory Catfish
- 1 Mystery Snail
- 2 Guppies
- 1 Flame Gourami
- 4 Black Mollies
- 1 Silver Mollies
- 1 Glass Catfish
- 2 Platies
- 1 Gold Panchax
- 1 Swordtail
- 2 Tri Colour Sharks
- 1 Ghost Knife

If anyone can give me a good location to get some good catfish in the Western Suburbs area of Victoria, Australia I would be very grateful.

--------
Jack

Gidday Jack! Welcome to Aquatic Babble.

That's quite a busy tank you've got there.

Western Suburbs of Victoria?

Are we talking Ouyen? Or maybe down toward Kaniva, or Dartmoor? Perhaps closer to home, Werribee, Footscray...

welcom jack as kana says thats quite a busy little tank you have there to be honest you would be better off with at least a 4 foot tank with all them fish in also if the red tails are red tail black sharks then you could have trouble with them as they are very territorial and are also intolerant to there own kind they also do better in a large tank i also notice you have Tri Colour Sharks also known as silver shask / bala shark unfortunatly 2 foot is not big enough as they can reach 13" in lenght
corydoras are a schooling fish so will thrive in groups of 5 or more
which glass catfish do you have ?
the ghost knife if it is the black ghost knife then it has the potential to reach 20" sorry if this has upset you but i just thought i should point this out to you so the sooner you upgrade to a bigger tank the better and try and reserch any fish you you get in the future but once again welcom to the forums Very Happy

I have heard of a couple of good Aquariums on that side of town, but it was long ago. Plus, I'm on the Eastern side.

Could be worth you grabbing a Trading Post. Good private sale prices, plus you can examine the stock pre-sale (unlike e-bay). A few 'Direct to Public' Importers advertise in there as well.

Are you mobile? What I did a few months back, was pull 20 Aquariums out of the Yellow Pages, plot out a course in the Melways, and spent half a day touring. Taking notes, collecting Business Cards. Eliminated the crap ones, and noted what was good for the rest, the best wood, the best plants, good food, the best Cichlid range, etc.
