It's a pity neither of them visit much. I like to see a few more pics of the Cod, and learn a bit more about them. I'm afraid that for 3 or 4 generations, my family just caught 'em, and cooked 'em.
They do taste good tho'. My Grandfather, and Auntie, used to take me fishing when I was very young. And often we'd camp somewhere along the Murray. I've even camped in the Murray a couple of times, on the sandbars, during winter.
When you're living 'rough', catching what you eat, there's an extra 'edge' to the meal. I've had some really good tucker out there. Somewhere in the family archives, is a photo of my Auntie, holding a 40lb Cod she'd caught up at Piambie.

I sent a note off to my Sister, to see if she has it.
I still haven't gone through all of what I have yet. Most of what I've seen so far, is from the 20's through to about the 60's. I'm sure that pic was taken in the 70's.

Well I've just acquired a heap of photos of my Great Grandparents, and their children, and other family links.
Some of these people I've known all my life, but never actually knew quite where the relationship was, if it was there at all. 'Auntie' or 'Uncle' can be a very loose term of phrase.
I was very surprised to learn how long my family was in a particular country region. I was out by a generation or two (late).

What? You really want to see that stuff?
I scanned most of them to CD some time back, and I stumbled across all that yesterday, so I guess I could pop a couple up. Pic's of rural Australia after the 'Great' war.
I haven't spotted that fish pic yet. And haven't heard back from my Sister. Perhaps a reminder note.
Just give me half a day to catch up on my Babble admin.

This is not the one I mentioned, it's actually two generations earlier. But there are fish to be seen. That's my Great Grandfather on the right. I'd hazard a guess at late 1940's, early 50's.
