i stand corrected. the reason i called them rams-horns is that is what i had seen them called on another web site, but it did occur to me at the time that real rams horns have the curl.

the snails in question are commonly known as Malaysian trumpet snails. though they don't look much like trumpets either.
i still have 2 or 3 surviving 'small rams-horn snails' (going by said web site pics) that appear to have been overlooked by the CLs.
i am still amazed at how many snails my CLs have munched. i have taken out the odd net full off snails in the past, that was bigger than the pile u have in you pic and this barely dented the population. my CLs got through at least 20 or 30 times the amount of snails in your pic (maybe more) in 5 days.

Maybe they look like 'Malaysian trumpets' ?
Well, we've been tipping them in by the bowl load, and I've not seen any either. They do a good job. I should just save the effort, and throw the Clowns in the other tank !
But I guess they won't leave any for breeding, and so would end the source of some nice little tit-bits.
