|
|
Today I am going to buy 3 new Panda Cories... There are 5 Pandas already in my tank (3 males, 2 females). Since I moved other fish from that tank to the larger aquarium, I am willing to breed Pandas.
What's necessary for this purpose? There is only 1 YoYo Loach in smaller tank (+ those 5 Pandas), but I must keep him there "thanks" to Ramshorns which are causing my hair are turning to grey . So I understand that the fry could be in danger when facing to YoYo. Basically I want to know how to help Pandas laying eggs only. They already laid eggs in the tank, but it was long time ago...
Thanks for your tips. _________________ Don't let your fish boil during Summer! Read my article about

Firstly can i say to the site.
Panda Corys are not one of the difficult corys,to breed, as they will breed as per any Corydoras species giving a good diet and water conditions, with water changes try using a lower temperature to trigger spawning. The ratio of two males to one female or one pair should workout Setup the tank with sand or bare bottom with Java moss andJava fern if you can. How big is your tank ? Also you are right that the yoyo could cause some problems _________________ the only stupid questions are the ones you dont ask

Thanks, my tank has 42 Litres, slightly alkaline water (just a bit above normal). Unfortunately I was not able to buy those Cories because they were bought by another person . So now I must wait 2 weeks.
Anyway, Pandas are more active since I removed Bristlenose Catfish from that tank . YoYo doesn't care about them at all, he (or she?) is occupied by searching for Ramshorns and their eggs .
I was thiking of adding rainy water. I have heard it helps, but I haven't tried it until now. Any real experience with this? _________________ Don't let your fish boil during Summer! Read my article about

The only problem with using rainwater is you dont know if you are introducing any polutants, (think acid rain) so that is a reason i have never used it, mind you i have read about some people using it, i think if the area you live in is the countryside then it might be ok. With you saying you have to wait 2 weeks is it not easy to get pandas in your country ? Or do you have to order them in ? _________________ the only stupid questions are the ones you dont ask

Oh, that makes a sense with rain water . I will definitely not use it.
RE Pandas in stores: I live in Slovakia where Pandas are relatively available, but I do shopping in 1 shop only. I don't know why, but fish from that store have always been healthy, so I trust that store only. My friends have bought fish from other stores (especially those super-stores like Hornbach) where dead fish are "swimming" along alive ones. All in all, I visted "my" shop today and shop assistant told me that they sold last Pandas on Thursday and he'll get next delivery in 2 weeks.
I will share my experiences here once I get those new specimens . _________________ Don't let your fish boil during Summer! Read my article about

I have got the eggs in my aquarium! And what's weird I didn't need any new Pandas (they are still unavailable)!
Now I am going to try the rest.
Tips for others: Temperature about 25°C, species tank (even I keep 1 Yoyo there) and the most important thing: feed them tubifex (I used frozen tubifex).
Guys I am so happy. I only hope that I will have few newborns because the amount of eggs is very small (as usually when Pandas breed). But my Pandas maybe don't know that I am going to feed them tubifex for next 2 weeks . So maybe I will have tank full of eggs .
I will tell you all how are things going and if I succeeded. _________________ Don't let your fish boil during Summer! Read my article about

Thanks a lot:).
All in all, I bred them even though I didn't know about it. 1 day after I posted that video here I noticed 1 small Panda swimming in the tank. Later I found another one. They are alive and are about 1-1.5 cm long. Additionally, 1 of those 7 (new) eggs survived and 1 small Panda hatched. So I introduced her(him?) into the tank and I am waiting if she survived.
I am so happy that I bred Pandas! if only there were more of them;). _________________ Don't let your fish boil during Summer! Read my article about
