Can I use live plants?

Can I place live plants into a 2 x 1 x 1 ft tank that holds 14.98 gallons and has one 18 watt light tube.

Oh yeah !

Here's mine. The same size tank, same lamp. The gravels a least an inch deep. That's important. And NO undergravel filtration.

i dont see why not as long as you have the lights on for about 8-10 hours a day then in a word yes
