Nice i love loaches. I have a Kuhli in my 10 gallon planted but he is buried in the sand all day long and only comes out at night. Very hard to get a pic of him, but i am trying. I got him to try and eat baby snails, but that must a myth or mine doesn't have a taste for escargo(sp), cuz this guy hasn't done a thing for them. How big is that tank, how big are those guys now and how many did you get?? _________________

not the right kind of loach to eat snails.
the tank they are in is 6ft x 3ft x 2ft so as you can see they have plenty of room they are between 4 1/2" to 5" in size now and i have 5 in this tank _________________ the only stupid questions are the ones you dont ask

They're a very gregarious fish, aren't they.
Our two never seperate. They even share a piece of poly-pipe, and that really amazes me how they both fit in there. _________________ Angels, Black Mollies, Bristlenose', Clown Loaches, Cory Aeneus, Gibby, Guppies, Hockey-stick Tetras, Keyhole Cichlids, Otocinclus. |

Yeah i was told that the kuhli would eat the babies and the eggs, and fit in a 10 gallon, i don't know much about loaches. But I am seeing now this person is mistaken. _________________

To be honest i dont think i have ever heard of anybody using khuli loache's for this, but in a 10 gal tank you might want to look at Botia sidthimunki which is a dwarf loach, at grows to about 2 1/4" _________________ the only stupid questions are the ones you dont ask

But behaviour is not absolute.
There's plenty of anecdotal evidence suggesting that a given species does not behave the same way in everyones tank.
For myself, my Cories from one tank to the other, have a totally different regard to human presence. In one tank, your approach if not careful, will send them all into hiding.
In the other tank, I have to keep pushing them aside with my hand when I'm cleaning or re-planting 'cos the buggers are always in the way ! They will even come 'sniffing' onto your open palm. _________________ Angels, Black Mollies, Bristlenose', Clown Loaches, Cory Aeneus, Gibby, Guppies, Hockey-stick Tetras, Keyhole Cichlids, Otocinclus. |
