Here's a good idea of what my larder looks like at any given time. there's some good examples of package sizes here as well.

[above] These are all Sera dry-food products, out of Germany. From left:
Micron: This is what I feed my Cory Fry on, as soon as they're ready to feed. It does pretty well for about three weeks. It's very fine. It'll sit in the hollows of your fingerprints.
Microgran: It's a granule, under 1mm, great for young Guppies, and similar sized fish. Some sink, some float.
Micropan: This is like an incredibly fine flake. It's great for very small fish, Guppies, young Cory's, and fry.
Flora: Is a standard sort of flake, heavy in Spirolina.
Viformo: Every Cory's favorite ! Comes as a tablet, but breaks downs in no time. You can squeeze one between forefinger and thumb, and it will burst into powder. The Adult Cory's can't get enough of it. I break them into quarters and halves, for the Cory fry. It's a good feed to judge feeding rates by, as it's easily visible, and I've never seen left-overs of this stuff. In the big tank, there is a tendancy for the fish to kick it up into suspension.

[above] On to Hikari, from Japan.
Algae Wafers: Bristlenose love them, partiularly the young ones. They're a resonably solid wafer, take a while to break down. The Cory's like them, but have to wait for that.
Sinking Wafers: Pretty much the same sort of thing, but smaller. I had some a few years back, that my Cory's really got into. My current bag doesn't seem to have solicited the same reaction. Not too sure on this one.
Cichlid Gold: A floating pellet, I suppose. It's a little red ball, about 4mm or less. Mixed response from this. I'd hoped the Angels would take to it, but they fancy one of the other foods right now. I don't drop too many in, but they do get eaten, I'm just not sure by whom !

[above] A bit of a mixed bag here.
Aqua-Life Vegetable Pellets: An Australian product, very cheap, and all the bottom dwellers woof it up. Again, I've had the Corys on this for years. Does have a tendancy to leave a sort of husk-like waste, but that siphons up ok.
Wardleys Shrimp Pellets: From the States. Another Cory favourite. Most bottom dwellers will get into this. Unlike other foods, this one is sort of pleasant smelling. A good one for Cichlids too, especially my Keyholes. Oh, and the Clown Loaches.
Tetra Tropical Crisps: Another German brand. I've covered this one in another thread, but it's huge with the Angels. A good float/sink ratio, everyone gets a shot. Even fry do well nibbling at this.
Tetra Color Bits: An old favourite. Tetras. They'll eat themselves stupid on this stuff. A small granule 3mm or less. Slow sinker, some float. So a good mid to upper level feeder. Cichlids also, as they like a good mouthful from slightly lower in the tank.
Tetra Menu: A strange experiment, I think, here. Four flavours of flake, with a dial lid with which to select. I didn't get a good response from the fish. Took me 18 months to use it up. I have other food in it now. Not a bad cannister !

So, as you can see, always plenty of variety about. Let's me be flexible in what I drop in the tank, on a day to day basis. If I know the fish like a particular food, it certainly stays on the shopping list.

The brands that have a range of package sizes, are great to 'trial' a food before you shell-out for the large tin.

Thank you.

I figured that was a good kick-off. You guy's have covered the fresh stuff somewhere about. We haven't done an in-depth on the dry.

I've traditionally been a dry food feeder. But since you ask. I have Blood-worms, and "Sea-Monkeys", in the freezer, that I am constantly forgeting I have.

Recent fresh treats (say 2 weeks..) include Cucumber, Zucchini, Apple, and Sweet Potato. The latter, not a favourite. This being the "Funky / Clunky" influence upon my feeding habits. Very Happy

I remember we had a real good 'chew' on the topic, it was good. And there was the link to PC, but didn't realise it was yours.
