These fellas were in a shop we wandered into. The Owner/Manager was kind enough to let me take some pics. I'd never really seen any before, but a discussion we had here last year allowed me a correct ID.

Of particular interest are the few that don't seem to have a tail. The Dorsal fin, and Anal fin, grow straight out behind the body.

Bad news Sad Those tails got cut off when they were young. Again, another cruel practice done to Parrot fish. I would recommend NEVER buying dyed or tailless or unicorn parrots. It is all done in a cruel fashion and extremely painful to the fish. Those are some hearty, colorful parrots anyway.

I didn't realise that. I'd thought it was some deformity brought on by breeding.

But as much as I found them interesting enough to bring back the pics, I'm afraid they don't really do it for me.
