Every so often when I trim back my plants we find swarms of these little buggers. I think this particular batch was of about 68. Once the plants are trimmed the Angels move in...!

What I find interesting is how freshly squeezed these little guys are. Note the couple with a very curved spine. They haven't straightened out yet from being in the womb.

Well, I got back into Guppies because my kids were asking me questions about fish and babies. So I figured Guppies would provide a good demonstration. I let the kids pick out the originals.

It didn't take long for my eldest (9 at the time, 13 now), to get hooked on the colour variation, and the skipping of generations , etc. She's been selectively breeding for a few years now. Very keen on the Blues.

We've had a couple of outlets snap up her Guppies, for which we've traded for Cichlids and Tetras.

And it's almost plant trimming time again!

Well, you can always tell if there's likely to be some around, as the Females look a lot thinner than the day before. We usually have a poke about, but if none can be located, they've most likely become Angel poo!

My Daughter called out to me one evening, and we could see a Female hiding quietly in the shrubs giving birth. So we sat and watched for a bit. Was a real pity we didn't have the Digital Camera's at the time. Would have made a good pic.
