I maintain the tank and decorate the tank. My wife picks out the fish.

Gotta keep it aerated for the 3 L183's. There is also 3 neons, 2 zebra danios, 2 panda corys, 1 L90, 4 platys/swordtails.

The L183's, they're the Peppermint Plec's ?

Why do they need the extra aeration? Is it a breeding thing?

Are they the little black ones with the pin-prick white specks?

Yeah, they're the ones I'm thinking of. They're 'Peppermints', right? And the L183's are 'Starlight'.

I'm really feeling confused right now!

L183 is starlight, which is the ones I have. L182 is peppermint and doesn't have the white dorsal or caudal stripe.

It's beautiful! Just curious, are they real or fake plants? It's hard to tell in the picture. And I'm really getting to be a fan of the "driftwood-as-centerpiece" look. I'm sure your wife's fish appreciate the good feng-shui you have going on in there! Very Happy

this is why most people try to go by the L numbers as it can get very confusing Confused as some times the only way you can truely id a plec is by knowing which location it was caught in
this is the peppermint pleco

Thanks! Some of the plants are real, some are fake. They may like the feng-shui, but they don't like the high ammonia, high nitrates and low ph.

Okay, I was wondering because I have plastic versions of the tall red plants. When I convert to real, I doubt I'd have sufficient lighting to keep that kind alive.

Is the ammonia high because of the plecos? I've heard those little guys are wasteful.
