I found this in the jungle when I did my trim the other day.

A greyish hair like Algae. I think this makes number 6, of types of Algae I've had in my tank.

It was very long in places, three inches or so. Sparse, so it seems to take up a lot of space. Comes off quite easily. I haven't looked it up as yet.

I "kept" the same algae Smile at old ages. Somehow it disappeared from my both tanks. Anyhow, it wasn't big problem at all.

But one of my friends had serious problems with this alage.... It took over his tank and fish were swimming at top 5cm level only. Then he took scissors, changed some water chemistry values and everything became normal Smile .

I recommend to control nitrates inside the tank in order to avoid hair algae.
