This is a beauty.

Clunkster will probably side with the PC'ers, and have my gonads, but I thought it was a bit on the funny side. But as Homer says \\\\"It's funny, because I don't know him!\\\\"

On a plate, good enough for you ?

It was something straight out of a Chinese folk tale. The Monkey god rescueing Triptaka from inside the Catfish spirit.

So what course of action would you take, in that situation ?

good question the guy obviously was'nt prepared to pay for a vet but was prepared to leave the fish in pain ? discomfort ? if i was in that position then i would think euthanasia Sad
but then to be honest i would not place any thing in a tank that a large mouthed fish could swollow for this very reason.
this reminds me of another catfish (think it was a redtail) that swollowed somthing and had it surgicaly removed. i will see if i can find it and post the link for people to see if they want

It was the poor blokes girlfriend that did it.

My suggestion over at PC, was to get the blade out. Shit, if you're gunna put the creature down, you might as well have a go at getting the thing out.

apistomaster's post gives a good option i think for those that cant afford the massive vet bill and that arent prepared to see a fish in such discomfort.

personaly i'd probably go for that option as watching the video of the fish made me cringe and feel for the poor thing.

I didn't watch it either, perhaps I should.

The fish seemed ok in the stills.
