Well, I need to keep within a 468 x 60 size. So I may need to drop the Fish reflection, or shrink the fish, or whatever.

I'll have a play with it anyway...

I stuffed about with the main AB Logo, but because of the size and shape restrictions at AquaBanners, it's practically impossible to include the reflections, and still be readable. What I did instead was play with the Banner I have on the Test Site. I've kept the colors, and themes, so that the Banner looks like it belongs.

I've included some variations here. You may select one of these as is (these are ready for immediate use). Ask me to modify one, or mix and match. Or tell me to start from scratch (I hope not).

No.1, Implements our base colors. The font is 'Kids', which I feel is 'friendly'. It has a 5 pixel emboss, giving it a 'button' look. All of the Banners I've seen at AquaBanners, look flat, like they've been cut from a piece of paper. There is a 1 pixel border around all banners, the same Blue as the Title text.

No.2, Is the same, but with a Tank background set at 20% Opacity. Image courtesy of FishyPaw. Emboss is reduced to 3 pixels, so it's more subtle.

No.3, Basic color scheme again. The main font is 'Comic Sans', as per our main AB Logo, which is a bit easier to read. The side text remains 'Kids'. I've included a shortened version of the Site Description.

No.4. As above, but with a water background set at 40% Opacity.

No.5, Has a few additional and interesting variations, but may only attract regional interest, and perhaps undesirables, rather than the more cultured and exclusive clientele we've come to expect here at Club Babble.

No.6, I threw this last one together after seeing the five laid out above. It has the text of No.3, on the background of No.2. The side text has been darkened slightly.

I guess there's nothing preventing us from enlisting with several Banner Exchanges, and using a different version of our banner on each...

I've submitted No.4, and No.6, to AquaBanners.com.

What happens, is that for every 2 display's here, for their Reciprical Banners, they display ours once. Hence why I put 3 copies of theirs here, to bump up the tally.

So far, in a week, we've two clicks on our Banners. Certainly our Membership went up at that time, but I don't think we acquired a contributing Member.

In addition, I've just placed 10 copies on both of my Test & Development sites. Shouldn't hurt. In fact I've begun promoting the test site by way of demonstration, in my ForumUp support role. It's getting 5-10 hits a days, so far.

=====================================

Our Visitor Counter has been active a week now. It's counted 185. I reckon at say, 2-3 visits each per day, probably close to half that tally would be current members.

Hi Angela,

The Banners, I think we've pretty much taken care of.

What do you know about triggering script from the 'onload' function?

Hi Guys,

So how is it all going, you don't really need any HTML knowledge on doing link exchanges. Just add the HTML they give u into the Board & Header HTML.

If you do need any HTML i can do it for you (if its not to much).

Attracting members to a site is extremely hard when considering all the other hundreds of fish forums i'm also finding it very hard to my site.

We discussed this via PM. As it turns out, Angela is familiar with the basic HTML, but I needed to push the boundaries a bit further.

My query was more in relation to some other advanced HTML features. But I've made my way forward a bit since then.
