My first thoughts when i saw the pics was its Peckolita pulcher, which i think is a very nice fish, in fact was one of the first catfish i ever had many years ago So i went to the old cat-elog, to look it up for you, only to find out the fish has been reclassified Its now called a Dekeyseria brachyura L168, so it took me a little longer to find, but i also have books that i use as well and i am prety sure it is what i knew as the peckolita pulcher, any ways check out this link

He's in the Q tank getting treated for any bugs he may or may not have. I also picked up a synodontis at, of all places, Walmart. He was in with the s. eupterus, but he is clearly different. I haven't had a chance to get a pic of him. He's in the Q tank with d. brachyura.
Thanks clunk for the i.d. I knew you would know where to look.

No worries mate, but i will say it dont half help, if you have the fish or have kept them before. I must say though we used to see them all the time but very rare that i come accross them now, which is a shame as they are a lovely small L number
Hope to see some pics of the synodontis soon, must admit that is how i have picked up some lovely fish over the years, look in the tank for the different fish

I wish he would have lived long enough to make it to the 135 gallon. He died yesterday. He was bleeding from his left pectoral fin and I was dosing with pima and mela since saturday. I lose a little more than half of the fish that I get from the lfs. I think I'm done getting fish from there. I will have to drive 2 hours to get my fish or order them off the

So which one died ? The Synodontis ?
'Cos I still think that bloke up above doesn't look too good at all.
You think that may be the cause of much of your recent hassles ? All the running about, checking the water, and bio-filter, and it falls back to a dodgy supplier, if not just dodgy live-stock.
The syno is still doing ok for now. The guy in the pics didn't make it. The lfs is the only one close, otherwise I have to go to petco, petsmart or walmart. I don't trust them either, but they do have a return policy whereas the lfs does not.

Yeah. I don't know those particular outlets, but I'm guessing they're like our "Pets Paradise", with a few tanks of common fish, plus Budgies, Finches, Rats, Mice, Dogs, Cats, and so on. And generally it's the fishes that none of the staff really know how to care for.
Although, I know of one or two, that are good for plants !
I think you'd better take up on Bones' idea, and move house.
