Little update:

The female turned downright vicious to the male. (Fish are more like poeple that we realize sometimes Laughing

)

His fins were torn, he wouldn't eat...and he would sit and cower in the sword down by the roots. I seperated them on two occasions...and she was still a Bit** to him...so yoink! Traded her in for a new model. Don't know the sex, but a cool looking fish & they get along great so far.

I'll post some pics soon...but have some bigger projects right now. (hint!)

I can't remember if I'd mentioned it, but a friend gave me two Angels, as they were ripping his plants out. So that brought me up to six.

Well, they seemed to have paired off three ways. Although we're still waiting for the original two to get their act together, and lay something !

Yeah, he's picked up a new bird !! Wooooah !! Get into it !

Was the 'tombstone' look intentional ? You should have carved a name in it.

Is that what I need to get my guys going ? There's nothing else big and flat, except the glass of the tank.

Actually - as it turns out I mis-identified their tubes last time. It sems even between females the tubes vary - so when one was longer than the other, I thought that was a male. Then the aggression came - then I noticed the "male" was a bit bloated. I was worried "he" was sick.

He wasn't sick - he's a she and she's gravid. So with the aggressor gone, I got this new guy a wek ago & they spawned today. Interesting.

The funny thing is - the female's name is Ned.

Yes - I didn't want square corners. Thought it'd be safer for the fish.

Everything I've read said a spawning slate at an angle is the best thing. I don't think that induces spawning, though. Water conditions & diet does - just like corys.

So anyway - I'm learning as I go with angels. Think I might have sexing down now. We'll see.

It's been about 8 hours & no white eggs. Hope they don't eat them!
