I had thought of it, but the only thing I know about Connecticut, is that it got mentioned in a Bugs Bunny cartoon once.

I either break out the Atlas, Google it, or wait for Bettina to tell me ! I think she's GMT -5 ?

The eastern time on the clock is the right time for me. I'm not sure though about the GMT -5 though. For some forums I'm on GMT-5 is correct, but for others GMT-4 is the right time. I'm pretty sure GMT-5 is what it's susposed to be. Maybe the other forums are wrong or something.

If my opinion matters, I am on the East coast, and on this board GMT-4 is right for me now. Here in another month, we stop daylight savings time, so then it should be GMT-3, or something like that.

The board will compensate for daylight savings.

Those GMTs are really confusing sometimes. I wonder why some forums are different though. On this site GMT-4 is the right time for me. However, I just looked up Connecticut's time and it's GMT-5.

Oh wait, maybe I read it wrong. This is what the site said.

Quote:
Connecticut is in the Eastern Time Zone in the United States of America (USA). Eastern Standard Time (EST) is 5 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT-5).

Like most states in the USA, Daylight-Saving Time (DST) is observed in Connecticut , where the time is shifted forward by 1 hour to EDT; which is 4 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT-4).

After the Summer months the time in Connecticut is shifted back by 1 hour to US Eastern Standard Time (EST) or (GMT-5).

So, if the board compensates for daylight savings, why is it not working? When I first made this site, GMT-5 was right for me. Now I had to switch it to GMT-4 to make it correct again. Hmm... Confused how confusing.

I don't think the board does actually adjust.

You had to input it manually when you set it up?

Yes. You set the Time-Zone in the Admin Panel. But generally you just see that time as a Guest. As soon as you logon, you see the time that's set in your User profile.

Daylight savings time is over. Time should resume to its normal schedule.
