hate-saluto Hey y'all. I'm new to this site, not to fish however. I've had some sort of tank of them in my life for almost 25 years now. Nothing fancy really: Corys, Tetras, Livebearers, & Bettas. Common, right. Embarassed Even had a tank of Goldfish once for my oldest daughter when she was little. I have 2 daughter, Amanda-almost 19 & Michaela-just turned 4, husband, 2 Italian Greyhounds, 1 mean Cat, 7 Hermies, 6 male Bettas, 1 female Betta, & 35-gallon tank of assorted Tropicals! Applause Kind of a full house as all live here except the oldest daughter. I love animals of all kinds, always have. Of course, so far the most expensive ones have been the Iggies. One was expensive to purchase & then repair the next week, the other was just really expensive to repair! hate-cry2 Who knew they break soooo easily. Just wanted to intro myself to y'all. Appears to be several Aussie in here? Seems to be an interesting place. I'm from RI which most people tend to think is part of NY...NOT. Glad to meet ya & hope I can contribute something. Rolling Eyes

Hi BksBuddha !

It's always good to see a fresh face, and find out what someone else is getting up to. I've largely been a keeper of the cheaper range of fish myself, with the influence of two daughters on the selection of species.

Or 'ikkies', depending on your attitude toward them.

I've never really seen the point of Snakes and Lizards as household pets.

Laughing Happens almost all the time. My Italian Greyhounds-see my avatar. We lovers & owners of the breed affectionately call them Iggies or IGs. Iggies suits them better as they are sooo cute! I just love my boys, especially Buddha-he's on the left-because he's the first & the oldest! And the CALMEST. Hobbes is an absolute nut! Rolling Eyes Like a hyperactive mosquito. That one could wriggle out of a straight-jacket. LOL

Embarassed Thanks for the compliments on Buddha. Pharoh Hounds are from Egypt, I believe, & they're bigger about 30-50 lbs. I think. If poor Buddha ever gets that big, his poor vet will have a heart attack. She's saying things about his weighing 14 lbs. LOL He's on the heavier size, not fat, just well rounded. Rolling Eyes
Razz On another thread, has anyone ever heard of Dwarf Catfish? I've had several & I have to admit that they are the cutest things. They have barbels, small obviously, are about the size of a neon, & when they do swim mid-tank, they hover like Emperor Tetras. Does anyone else have them?

Welcome BksBuddha!

Never had an italian - but I did used to have a retired greyhound. WONDERFUL breed.

I'm mostly a south american keeper (Discus/Angels) although I do have a soft spot for some catfish as well - particularly plecos. I keep some smaller breeds of them.

I've only been to RI once and I LOVED it. Again - welcome & hope to see you on often.
