You can move this to the cichlid section if you like, but there are some cool pics here, so thought I'd post in this section....

My angels have been spawning now for a couple of months but until now hadn't taken to parenting. I'm so proud of them (like I had anything to do with it)!

Check it out...

Here's a great picture of Dad (Sonny)

And here's Sonny with the Mrs....Ned. (My son named her before we sexed her...so I guess Nettie would make more sense.)

After eating their first three spawns, I stole their fourth and have been raising them up. They're doing great & I posted pics on another post.

So on their fifth spawn, they got the hang of it. Here are some shots of them taking care of the wigglers which they spit onto a baby sword...

Just today they all became free swimming & ate their first brine shrimp...

How sweet is that???? aola

I was psyched when I successfully hatched a spawn myself - but this is REALLY cool to watch them taking care of the babies on their own.

The babies swarm all around the parents & follow them wherever they swim. It looks like a swarm of gnats all around them.

I'll post more as more develops.

6 tanks from 40g - 6g

100s of baby convicts, 6 harlequins, 6 black neons, 5 zebra danios, 5 kuhli loaches, lots of varying corys, 2 clown loaches, 2 bristlenose plecs, lots of shrimps. 30+ bristlenose babies and lots of baby zebra danios

I was hoping for some detail on parental behaviour.
