Funny you bring this up. I was asking my wife why she thought fish have nostrils? I don't know why they have nostrils. Does anybody know why fish have nostrils?

So if they can taste it before they smell it, whats the point of smelling it? Also our main function for our nose is for breathing and filtering air. Fish mouths don't really close due to their breathing. Fish nostrils would be entirely too small to breathe out of regularly.
