That'd be a possibility. I think my original plan years back was for this to be mainly a freshwater forum with any saltwater related topics being discussed in the same forums , but we could expand this site to include a separate saltwater section. I never used to think much of saltwater aquariums, but I am currently taking care of one at school, so I've become more interested in it.
You have any ideas what we could put into it or how to organize it? Would it be just a saltwater related forum maybe within one of the already existing categories? Maybe instead of a separate section, we could incorporate saltwater forums into the rest of the site. Like maybe a corals section in the "Other Aquatic Creatures" section. And maybe the algae forum can include seaweeds or something. Share your ideas and I can start to put something together. |

Corals, snails, mollusks, clams, anemones are all invertebrates. They break down as sessile and motile inverts. Motile move and sessile are stationary. Maybe the snails and other invertebrates could be changed to motile and sessile? Algae could still be algae and plants could still be plants. The only thing I see that needs to be added is an aquarium hardware section. i.e. filters, skimmers, refugiums, lighting, heaters, powerheads, etc. |

Me. I have a 54 gallon reef that is thriving. I did work at the only lfs here and did alot with saltwater/reef. I know more about the saltwater stuff than the owner. He openly admits to it. |

Might it work if there is a hardware forum for both fresh and saltwater tanks together? I just realized we don't have any type of separate section for the filters, powerheads, and other important things needed in a tank (it seems the forums on this site haven't strayed past the living organisms in a tank). Maybe a separate section should get set up for all the electrically powered parts of an aquarium setup? |

Well I started making an aquarium hardware section, but I'm having issues with the title of the section. I can't figure out how to get the name of the section to be the same font as the other sections, and while trying to figure it out, the Community Babble section also lost it's font. I'm not sure what Kana used for all the images and fonts for this place. Does anyone even have any idea what's happened to him? |
