What are Chair Runners? I had meant to query how one chops their finger off on a chair.

I didn't read it like that. I thought that She'd just 'rocked' over backward, on the rear legs? I don't know that I've ever seen a rocking chair of that design. We do have childrens playground equipment like that tho'. This thing you can stand on, and swing your body along, and up just above head height. My kids love it!

I think I mentioned our Shed door running off the railings. The only thing that kept my toes attached to my foot, was a small rock that the door came to rest on. I was still pinned and bleeding tho', until someone came to rescue me.

Do you get your kids names mixed up?

she was about 2-4 if I remember right. she actually feel asleep while they were stitching it back on b/c she was crying and screaming so hard!they hard her in a straight jacket type thing, to make her hold still.

what she was doing to chop it off was she was sitting backwards in a normal chair (with four legs, not a rocking chair) so that her knees were where your butt is supposed to go.

then she had her hands over the back of it, and she was rocking it back forth so that is was only on only two legs at a time. it fell, and cut her finger between the back of the chair and the wall!

and then once she was lifting a brick to prove how strong she was (maybe five now?) to my aunt, but the aunt wasn't watching, so she just kept standing there holding the brick until she dropped it on her toe.

(this is at a family reunion) so she goes to the emergency room, and I think it required stitches... I can't remember. anyway, this was the summer right after the finger thing, so next summer we joked that we hoped she wouldn't make her yearly trip to the emergency room! lol

That's nasty for a kid. You'd think they'd have given her a general anaesthetic. The chair must have got her right on a finger joint.

My friends Mum gets all of her kids mixed up (She has four). She'll start to say one name, then half way through, switch to the correct name. I spent a lot of time there over a couple of fruit seasons. So I became included in the name mixing. One morning she comes out and calls me "Nugget". There was a roar a laughter all 'round. That's the Dog's name! Another story never forgotten.
