I didn't manage to draw you back into the discussion tho'...

You mention the "why won't my fish shoal?". You've got me thinking, most published images have a good shoal. Perhaps these particular images are taken in the evening, when the fish all come together. It may not be a natural behaviour during 'day-light' hours. It's just we've been brainwashed to think it is!

it may also be that these 'shoaling pics' are taken not long after the tank has been setup or just after some work has been done on the tank, hence the 'stressed' fish shoal.

i just accept that my fish are generally happy and shoal when they feel like it. i suppose in the wild they probably shoal more to protect themselves from predators which arent normaly present in an aquarium.

How do they generally interact, Karen?

Are they in a reasonably planted tank?

they get on really well, the neons, black neons and glowlights stay together while lemons and widows keep to themselves. And they do fine in my tank its heavily planted.

I had buenos aires tetras, buy my red devil ate them all. They were just too slow. Wich is crappy cuz they were suggested to me as the best dither fish to keep with hyperterritorial cichlids like red devils. Crying or Very sad

I have about 30-40 Prionobrama Filigera, 10 Gymnocorymbus Ternetzi with about 100 Ancistrus cirrhosus in my larger tank. And 4 Guppies. Long time ago I had one aquarium screensaver installed on my PC and I was wondering if I could make my fish tank as much attractive as that screensaver was (that time I kept less fish in the larger tank than I do now). Now I know that many fish = aquarium with never-ending fun. Fish chase each other (especially Prionobrama Filigera species), there is always some scene to watch. I don't keep any Tetra in my smaller tank, but looking at Pandas is interesting as well Smile .
