My BNs spawned again. My wife noticed 8 eggs outside the cave on the gravel. Is there anything I can do to put them back in the cave?

Also, I believe I lost all of my previous batch of fry from this pair. What should I do to ensure the survival of them this time?

To be honest i dont think you will be able to do much about getting them back in the cave. Possibly better awaiting Kana to answer this for you

I put them in a net right in the current from the filter and the powerhead. I added more bubbles to the powerhead also. We'll see.

Its possible that there could be something wrong with the eggs that you have in the net and that could be why they were outside the cave (dad discarded them knowingly)

Most of the eggs were kicked out of the cave. I put the ones I found in a net and put them in the current from the filter and the powerhead. Saturday morning they hatched and were wriggling around the net. I went out and watched some tv and went to take another look and the wrigglers were gone. Huh? I searched the tank and found 3 near the cave and more eggs. I looked into the cave and saw 2 wrigglers in it. I couldn't do anything to help the fry that were out of the cave.
I wanted to check in on the 2 remaining fry last night. The dad came out to eat and I had a peek and there wasn't anything in the cave except baby snails. Maybe this is the reason that the eggs were kicked out of the cave in the first place?

Sorry I'm late. This is 'seat of your pants' stuff, nothing academic !

I think the net thing was a good idea. Although I doubt that it matters what their in, as long as they get oxygen. Everything else they need is in the yolk.

I wouldn't be opposed to using some utensil to poke / lift the eggs back into the cave, but once it's apparent the Male is just kicking them out again, it's back to the net. Of course, if there's no danger of predation, just leave them there !

I don't remember which of your tanks we're dealing with here, but from memory, most of yours don't have a lot of cover. When my Bristlenose last laid, I planted something bushy, right outside the cave. I reckon anything that hides them from prying eyes, is the go. Even an upturned Fry Enclosure, over the cave. Allow a gap for the Male to come and go, but he'll dig a tunnel anyway.
